3 WAKES, 4 DEATHS

Aug. 28, Fr. Regino Cortez, OP  - former Latin professor

Aug. 31, Amon Beltran, 19 - friend

Sept. 7, Alma Ramirez, 59 - family friend

Sept. 9, Dominador Gomez, Jr. - relative

In two weeks, four persons died.

These deaths showed and vindicated how short life is.  Very, very short.

I only believe in one destiny: at one point in the history of men, we will die.  There is already an exact date and time when we will die.  That’s the only destiny there is.  Beliefs like lovers meant for each other, career destined for you are all foolishness.  Death is the only ultimate destiny, the end of all possibilities.  (May natutunan din pala ako kay Heidegger).

And now I sit here thinking of how I have been the past 21 years.  And I realized that, indeed, I just have to continue enjoying life regardless of how small my income is, regardless of the numerous problems that burden me, regardless of how cruel or unjust life could be.  Because life is too short to be wasted on these matters.

A friend told me: "You only have one life to live, how do you want to live it?"

I want to live it happily.  I want to enjoy it.  No regrets.  Just pure fun.  Besides, God wants me to enjoy His creation, His goodness, His love.

Accept Death.

Serve Life.

That’s the way things.

The way of the Force.

I am the Great X!!!
